MG Majestor will go on sale soon in India and its series production has commenced at the brand’s Halol plant in Gujarat
JSW MG Motor India has now officially commenced production of its new SUV, the Majestor, at its Halol manufacturing facility in Gujarat ahead of its market launch. Triple differential locks, crawl control and an 810 mm water wading depth are some of its key specifications but the Majestor boasts several class-leading premium features and safety technologies too.
Positioned as a full-sized SUV, the MG Majestor will sit above conventional sports utility vehicles currently sold by the brand in India as a flagship model. MG claims it is the longest, widest and tallest model within its category while also becoming the first SUV in the segment to offer front, rear and centre differential locks together with crawl control functionality.
The SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre twin turbo diesel engine which is good enough to kick out 215.5 PS and 478.5 Nm of torque. A four wheel drive system paired with ten selectable off road modes forms part of the package. Ground clearance stands at 219 mm while the claimed water wading capability reaches 810 mm – placing it among the most off-road focused premium SUVs in the domestic market.

MG has also equipped the Majestor with Level 2 ADAS functions along with multiple driver assistance and safety technologies. Unlike softer monocoque crossovers dominating the upper end SUV market currently, the Majestor looks to prominently focus on traditional SUV characteristics including upright proportions, larger dimensions and terrain based hardware.
Production has begun at the Halol facility which remains central to JSW MG Motor India manufacturing operations. The plant currently handles multiple products from the brand portfolio and the company says advanced quality control systems and precision manufacturing processes are being used for the Majestor as well.

MG is also introducing the SUV with what it calls a “5 5 5” ownership package. The plan includes a five year unlimited kilometre warranty, five years roadside assistance and five labour free services. Customer pre reservations have already commenced with booking amounts fixed at Rs. 41,000 through the company official website.
Early customers are expected to receive priority deliveries along with exclusive previews and experiential drives before wider deliveries begin. Although pricing has not been officially announced yet, the Majestor will enter the full-size SUV category currently occupied by models such as Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, VW Tiguan, and Skoda Kodiaq at the higher end.
