In the list of top 10 car exporters between April 2025 and February 2026, Maruti Suzuki dominated Hyundai, Nissan, Volkswagen, Toyota and Kia

The PV export space between April 2025 and February 2026 has seen appreciable volumes with total shipments reaching 8,13,919 units with a healthy 19 per cent growth over the same period last year. Leading the charts comfortably was Maruti Suzuki with 3,88,591 units exported – registering a massive 34.4 per cent growth on a YoY basis.

Its market share jumped from 42.3 per cent to 47.7 per cent – a massive 5.5 percentage gain as models like Baleno and Jimny are helping it to garner high volumes. Holding second place was Hyundai with 1,76,185 units – up 19.1 per cent year-on-year. Interestingly, its market share remained flat at 21.6 per cent in the domestic market.

In third position, Nissan posted 76,427 units with a healthy 22.1 per cent increase. Its market share also edged up slightly from 9.2 per cent to 9.4 per cent with a steady export demand. Meanwhile, Volkswagen saw a decline, shipping 37,659 units – down 15.5 per cent year-on-year. Its share dropped significantly from 6.5 per cent to 4.6 per cent.

Among other key players, Toyota recorded an impressive 42.1 per cent growth with 36,905 units – boosting its share to 4.5 per cent. Kia managed a modest 5.4 per cent growth to 25,908 units but its share dipped slightly from 3.6 per cent to 3.2 per cent. A major decline was seen at Honda where exports fell by 56.8 per cent to 24,034 units.

Its market share dropped from 8.1 per cent to just 3.0 per cent showing a significant pullback in overseas volumes. On the other hand, Mahindra & Mahindra grew by 30.9 per cent to 16,776 units – slightly improving its share to 2.1 per cent.

Further down the order, Renault saw a 29.3 per cent rise to 13,878 units while Tata Motors emerged as the fastest-growing brand with a massive 319.4 per cent surge – reaching 7,575 units. Smaller players like Citroën, Jeep and Škoda posted moderate gains while MG Motor reported no exports during this period. The financial year 2026 is shaping up to reach new records as the India-made cars have been well received by customers in the international markets.
