Tata recorded a domestic sales tally of 66,192 units with a 28 per cent increase as it finished second in the overall manufacturers’ table
Last month brought an appreciable overall result for Tata Motors with total passenger vehicle sales going up to 66,192 units with a 28 per cent increase compared to 51,616 units sold during the same period in 2025. On a month-on-month basis too, volumes moved up by 6 per cent from 62,329 units in February for the homegrown maker.
At the top of the portfolio, the Tata Punch continued to be the stalwart in garnering volumes. With 20,977 units sold, it posted an 18 per cent year-on-year gain and also improved 12 per cent over February. The Tata Nexon finished in the second position by delivering 19,810 units and its sales were up 21 per cent year-on-year.
But its month-on-month growth remained modest at 2 per cent. A huge highlight this time was the Tata Sierra which recorded 9,003 units with a healthy 27 per cent rise when compared to February as the high booking tally turns into real-world figures. Together with Punch and Nexon, it added significant weight to Tata’s expansive SUV range.

On the other hand, the Tata Tiago saw volumes decline to 7,119 units – down 10 per cent year-on-year but it remained largely stable compared to February. The entry-level space has undoubtedly become less desirable as SUVs continue to pull in higher demand. Further down the lineup, the Tata Harrier stood out with a massive 123 per cent jump year-on-year – reaching 2,826 units.
However, it did see a 9 per cent drop compared to February. The Tata Altroz also performed well – growing 41 per cent year-on-year and 14 per cent month-on-month to 2,344 units. The Tata Curvv dropped sharply by 58 per cent year-on-year to 1,602 units and was also down 9 per cent sequentially.

Similarly, the Tata Safari recorded an 8 per cent annual increase but declined 7 per cent month-on-month while the Tata Tigor slipped 33 per cent year-on-year and 32 per cent compared to February. The SUV segment continues to be at the heart of drawing in the bulk of volumes with Punch and Nexon leading from the front. A host of new models are waiting in the pipeline over the next 12 to 18 months.
