Tata Motors PV Sales Hit All-Time High In FY26, SUVs & EVs Dominate

Tata garnered total car sales of 6,41,587 units in FY26 – up from 5,56,263 units in FY25 delivering a 15 per cent growth

Tata Motors registered its highest-ever passenger vehicle sales in FY2025–26 while also closing the fourth quarter with high volumes. The company’s domestic and international PV sales combined to reach 2,01,368 units in Q4 FY26 compared to 1,46,999 units in the same period last year with a 37 per cent growth.

In March 2026, Tata recorded total PV sales of 66,971 units – up from 51,872 units sold during the corresponding period twelve months ago with a 29 per cent increase. The local passenger vehicle sales alone stood at 66,192 units – showing a notable 28 per cent YoY rise while international business contributed 779 units during the month with a huge 204 per cent growth.

Looking at the full quarter, the domestic PV sales reached 1,98,743 units in Q4 FY26 compared to 1,46,127 units sold during the same period the previous fiscal by growing 36 per cent. International business added 2,625 units during the quarter – up 201 per cent YoY. It took total PV sales including EVs to a record 2,01,368 units for the quarter.

On a yearly basis, Tata garnered total car sales of 6,41,587 units in FY26 – up from 5,56,263 units in FY25 delivering a 15 per cent growth. The domestic PV sales accounted for 6,31,387 units – rising 14 per cent – while international business volumes stood at 10,200 units with a massive 281 per cent increase.

The combined EV sales stood at 9,494 units in March 2026 – up 77 per cent from 5,353 units sold last year. For Q4 FY26, EV sales reached 26,931 units with a 69 per cent YoY growth while annual EV volumes crossed 92,120 units with an increase of 43 per cent. SUVs continued to be at the core of Tata’s success with models like the Nexon and Punch emerging as top sellers in the second half of the financial year.

The company also saw increasing pull for new launches such as the Sierra, refreshed Punch and petrol versions of the Harrier and Safari. The brand also brought in the updated Punch EV last FY while the electric version of the Harrier will be launched this quarter. In addition to SUVs, Tata also witnessed good demand for alternative fuel options. Its CNG-powered vehicles recorded over 1.7 lakh units in FY26 with a 24 per cent growth.
