Tata Intra EV Pickup Launched At Rs. 11.95 Lakh, 211 Km Range

New electric pickup offered in multiple configurations right from launch, all powered by the same motor and featuring the same battery pack

Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles (TMCV) has expanded its electric vehicle portfolio with the launch of the Intra EV Pickup. Priced from Rs. 11.95 lakh rupees (ex-showroom), the new electric pickup joins the Ace EV 1000 and Ace Pro EV in TMCV’s electric vehicle line-up.

The Tata Intra EV Pickup has a long load body with length options of up to 10 ft. 2 in. and offers a maximum payload capacity of 1,750 kg. TMCV states that this model is suitable for various applications, including LPG and dairy distribution, FMCG, e-commerce, cold chain, and waste management.

Powering the Tata Intra EV Pickup is a single motor that produces 72 kW (97 hp) and 230 Nm of torque. The electric pickup can climb grades of up to 23%. An IP67-rated 28.2 kWh battery pack is standard, and while TMCV has not revealed the cell chemistry, we expect it to be LFP. The company says that it takes at least around 55 minutes for a 10-80% charging session and delivers a range of 211 kilometres when fully charged.

Tata Intra EV

The Tata Intra EV Pickup features a walkthrough cabin, electric power-assisted steering, and car-like ergonomics. Tata Motors Fleet Edge, a fleet management system, allows owners to track the vehicle in real time, monitor its health, and obtain predictive maintenance insights. TMCV says this will improve uptime and make costs and operations more transparent.

Drivers can choose from three levels of regenerative braking in the Tata Intra EV Pickup, depending on whether they want to maximise energy efficiency and range or get the smoothest possible driving experience. TMCV says it has equipped the electric pickup with an Electronic Braking System for enhanced stability and braking efficiency.

TMCV provides a 6-year/2 lakh km warranty for the traction battery pack of the Tata Intra EV Pickup, but it has yet to disclose the specifics of the vehicle warranty. The company took the opportunity of the new EV’s launch to highlight its growing nationwide charging ecosystem as well, stating its customers have access to more than 25,000 charging points. Moreover, TMCV operates a network of 200+ EV-specific service centres across India.
