Skoda posted total sales of 6,361 units in February 2026 – up 14 per cent YoY from 5,583 units and also up 11 per cent MoM
Last month delivered a contrasting performance for Skoda and Volkswagen with detailed YoY and MoM data showing where each brand gained and lost ground. While Skoda managed to grow both annually and sequentially, Volkswagen struggled on both fronts. Skoda posted total sales of 6,361 units – up 14 per cent YoY from 5,583 units and also up 11 per cent MoM compared to 5,739 units in January 2026.
The Kylaq compact SUV emerged as Skoda’s biggest strength – recording 4,532 units with a 25 per cent YoY jump and a strong 41 per cent MoM surge from 3,220 units. In contrast, the Kushaq collapsed to just 9 units – down 99 per cent YoY and 98 per cent MoM from 434 units as the facelifted model is on the brink of going on sale as its prices will be announced on March 21.
The Slavia sedan delivered a domestic tally of 1,674 units in February 2026 – growing 86 per cent YoY although it slipped 14 per cent MoM from 1,946 units. The Kodiaq posted 146 units – up a massive 1360 per cent YoY and 5 per cent MoM. For Volkswagen, total volumes stood at 2,639 units – declining 15 per cent YoY from 3,110 units and 3 per cent MoM from 2,710 units.

The local sales of Taigun midsize SUV dropped big time to 698 units – down 45 per cent YoY and 12 per cent MoM. The Virtus held relatively steady at 1,804 units with just a 2 per cent YoY and 4 per cent MoM decline. Lower volume models showed volatile trends with the Tiguan rising 1050 per cent YoY but falling 32 per cent MoM while the Tayron jumped 2160 per cent MoM to 113 units.

In the overall manufacturers’ sales standings, Skoda finished in the seventh position ahead of Honda, JSW MG Motor and Renault while Volkswagen ended up eleventh with a market share of 0.6 per cent. Following the price announcement of the updated Kushaq soon, the brand is preparing to bring in multiple new models including the Octavia RS, Slavia facelift and Sportline version of the Kylaq.

As for VW, the updated Taigun and Virtus are in the pipeline while the regular version of the Tayron and new batch of Golf GTI are also coming this CY.
