Following the recently launched e Vitara, Maruti Suzuki expected to bring at least four new cars to showrooms this year
After multiple delays, Maruti Suzuki finally launched the e Vitara in February. The maiden EV was the company’s first new model this calendar year, and the company has lined up several more new cars for launch this year.
The next major launch from Maruti Suzuki this year will be the new facelifted Brezza. The company launched the current Brezza, the second generation of its hit compact SUV, in June 2022. Four years later, it will give the model a mid-cycle update with extensive cosmetic changes.
The facelifted Maruti Brezza will likely feature redesigned bumpers, a new radiator grille, tweaked LED headlamps and tail lamps, and new 16-inch alloy wheels. Maruti Suzuki may also introduce a panoramic sunroof on the Brezza with this update. A 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system instead of the current 9-inch unit and ventilated front seats with electric adjustment on the driver side are also expected.

Following the new Brezza, Maruti Suzuki may launch a second facelift for the third-generation Wagon R. The current version has been on the market since 2022 and is in need of another refresh. Maruti Suzuki may revise the design of the radiator grille, introduce new colours, and add some new tech features, like USB Type-C ports, for instance. A major upgrade specific to the CNG variant will likely be a new underbody CNG fuel tank, aimed at improving the boot space.
Towards the end of the third quarter, just in time for the festive season, Maruti Suzuki will likely unveil its first electric MPV. Codenamed ‘Maruti YMC,’ this model will be based on the same platform as the Maruti e Vitara and compete with the Kia Carens Clavis EV.

Maruti Suzuki will likely offer the electric MPV in two variants, with the base configuration featuring a 142 hp/193 Nm front motor and a 48.8 kWh LFP battery pack and the top configuration featuring a 172 hp/193 Nm front motor and a 61.1 kWh LFP battery pack. The former could deliver a range of around 400 kilometres and the latter around 500 kilometres.
The mid-size SUV segment has become a lot more competitive in recent months with the arrival of the all-new Tata Sierra, the all-new Kia Seltos, and the all-new Renault Duster, and it’s only expected to get even more intense in the coming months with more launches. In response, Maruti Suzuki may roll out a facelift for the Grand Vitara, which it launched in September 2022.

The facelifted Grand Vitara will likely come with upgrades such as new bumpers, new 17-inch alloy wheels, redesigned headlamps and tail lamps, a gesture-controlled powered tailgate, Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. No changes are expected to the engines or transmissions, but a new, underbody CNG tank could improve boot space in the CNG variant.
