In just 12 months, Mahindra’s born electric lineup comprising the XEV 9e, XEV 9S and BE 6 has crossed 50,000 unit sales milestone
Mahindra’s dedicated electric SUV lineup has rapidly gained traction in India, breaching the 50,000 unit cumulative sales mark within just 12 months since launch. Built on the brand’s INGLO skateboard architecture, the portfolio currently includes three models – the XEV 9e, XEV 9S and BE 6 – all of which have contributed to this milestone.
Their popularity has been building steadily over time. Within the first 10 months alone, these born-electric SUVs had already crossed 41,000 units. More recently, Mahindra also recorded an impressive single-day dispatch figure of over 600 units helped by festive buying trends during celebrations such as Ugadi, Gudi Padwa and Navratri.
Among the trio, the XEV 9S plays a big role in expanding the overall appeal thanks to its three-row layout. Introduced towards the end of 2025, it targets families looking for a spacious electric SUV. Buyers can choose between three battery configurations – 59 kWh, 70 kWh and 79 kWh. The SUV offers a generous cabin with a sizeable boot and additional front storage while its claimed range figures stretch well beyond 500 km depending on the variant.

The XEV 9e, on the other hand, takes a more premium route with its coupe-SUV styling. It shares the same INGLO platform but focuses more on performance and features. Available with two battery options, it delivers impressive power outputs and quick acceleration while also offering a commendable claimed driving range.
Inside, the highlight is its triple screen setup paired with a high-end sound system along with practical touches like a large boot and front storage compartment. For customers seeking a more engaging driving experience, the BE 6 positions itself as the sportier alternative. It uses the same underlying architecture and battery options.

It must be noted that Mahindra XEV 9S emerged as the best-selling electric passenger vehicle in India in February 2026 and the brand recorded over 5,000 unit sales for its EV lineup in March 2026 alone as it looks to give tough competition to Tata Motors. Mahindra does have big plans to expand its dedicated EV range over the next few years while recently, the XUV 3XO EV made its debut as well.
