In the table of top 20 cars sold in FY26, Maruti Suzuki Dzire led the way ahead of Tata Nexon, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Swift
The PV market in FY26 witnessed familiar names dominating the charts while a few surprise performers shook things up. Sat right at the top was the ever-reliable Maruti Suzuki Dzire which clocked an impressive 2,29,130 units and registered a massive 39 per cent growth. The arrival of a brand new generation has proved to be successful.
In the second position stood the Tata Nexon at 2,16,054 units – continuing its dominance in the compact SUV space with a healthy 32 per cent rise. The five-seater is sold in ICE and electric guises and is available in an expansive range. The Hyundai Creta maintains its stronghold among midsize SUVs with a domestic tally of 2,01,921 units.
However, its growth was modest at 4 per cent. The ever-popular Maruti Suzuki Ertiga followed with 1,98,876 units – proving once again why it remains India’s favourite family mover. Amongst hatchbacks, the Maruti Suzuki Swift posted 1,85,350 units to finish fifth while the Tata Punch came very close at 1,83,980 units despite a slight 6 per cent dip.
