Why we have called the 2026 Guerrilla 450 an ‘almost’ perfect roadster, keep reading the piece and you will agree with us on this
Royal Enfield, renowned globally for making exquisite classic motorcycles, did something exceptional in July 2024. It presented a brand spanking new street-focused roadster motorcycle, based on the modern 452cc platform, in the form of the Guerrilla 450. For the unversed, the 452cc engine platform was so far reserved only for the Himalayan 450 adventure motorcycle.
The new roadster bike received a decent reception from the buyers in India. However, despite being a well thought out experiment, it had certain flaws in it. Hence, based on customer feedback, Royal Enfield attempted to fix these in the 2026 Guerrilla 450, which we rode a few days back in the beautiful city of Guwahati in Assam.

The brand claims that it has done course correction and it is visible on the paper too. However, does it really make any significant difference while riding the motorcycle in real-world conditions, we find out in this detailed review of the 2026 Guerrilla 450.

2026 Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Design and Colours

First things first, Royal Enfield axed the existing entry-level ‘Analog’ variant in favour of a modern ‘Apex’ model. Presented in three colours namely Red, Black and Green, it certainly appears better than before. Not only the colours, but also the graphics have also been refreshed to offer something never-seen-before to the customers. The 2026 Guerrilla 450 also carries standard rim tapes, a sculpted rear seat cowl, and a color-coded front cowl, which further accentuate its visual appeal.

Royal Enfield has not made any aesthetic updates to the mid-spec Dash trim, except for the introduction of a new colourway in the form of Twilight Blue. The existing three paint shades namely Shadow Ash, Smoke Silver, and Peix Bronz have been retained without any noticeable cosmetic changes. However, they can now be availed with complimentary handguards and a headlight grill to flaunt a rugged character. Last but not the least, the range-topping Flash trim continues like before in the sole Brava Blue paint scheme.
2026 Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Features
Sitting on the steel twin spar frame, the 2026 Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 gets Tripper Dash as standard feature across the entire variant line-up. All the three variants now feature the 4-inch circular instrument panel with TFT screen and Google Maps-powered navigation. The riders can connect their smartphone with the motorcycle seamlessly through Bluetooth to get real-time ride insights.

The biggest update that makes an impact on the ground comes in the form of new tyres. While the Apex variant comes fitted with 17-inch Vredestein Centuro ST tyres, the Dash and Flash ride on the same CEAT GRIPP XL RE tyres as standard. During the ride of the Apex variant, the difference in the ride quality was apparent as the new tyres showed a lot of improvement than before and offered much better grip on the wet roads of Guwahati.

Royal Enfield claimed that it has updated the ride modes while introducing the mode retention feature so that the last selected mode is retained each time the rider starts the engine. As we rode the Apex grade of the 2026 Guerrilla 450, we observed commendable improvement in mid-range torque during the Street mode, while Sport is peppy as ever without any substantial difference in ride quality.

2026 Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Engine and Handling
Royal Enfield has left the engine unchanged as the same 452cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled Sherpa unit continues to be at the helm with top power of 39.7 bhp and peak torque of 40 Nm. The 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch has also been carried over. In fact, the suspension setup comprising telescopic front forks and monoshock rear absorbers with preload adjustability has been retained. The front and rear disc brake system too remains untouched.

However, what truly transformed the ride from decent to overwhelming was the inclusion of a new aluminium handlebar which is positioned lower in the Apex grade. It results in a forward-leaning riding triangle with a more upright riding stance. The 2026 Guerrilla 450 feels more comfortable and confident during cornering while at the straight roads also, it feels quite a fun-to-ride machine.
2026 Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Review: Verdict
There are no two opinions in concluding that the 2026 Guerrilla 450 is an improved package than its predecessor. Royal Enfield deserves applause for rolling out all these updates without increasing the price of the motorcycle even by a single penny. While the Apex trim comes as a breeze of freshness, the Flash and Dash continue with their exuberant appeal.

Though, it would have become an absolute beast of a package had Royal Enfield turned its attention to the rear suspension and also tweaked it to reduce the stiffness and offer a much more comfortable ride. Nevertheless, the 2026 Guerrilla is almost the perfect bike in its segment.
