Toyota Innova HyCross has reached two lakh sales milestone in just over three years since its launch in November 2022 in India
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has announced that the Innova HyCross has crossed the two lakh cumulative sales milestone in the Indian market. The premium MPV has reached this mark in a little over three years since its launch in November 2022 as customer demand in both private and fleet segments can be apparently witnessed.
The HyCross has been a key product for Toyota in recent years as it introduced a strong hybrid powertrain to the Innova range for the first time. With fuel efficiency and lower running costs becoming increasingly important for buyers, the self-charging hybrid system has worked in the model’s favour. Combined with the brand’s loyal fanbase and resale value, the Innova HyCross has grown to become one of the consistent sellers in the industry.
Based on the TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform, the Innova HyCross is powered by a fifth generation strong hybrid system. It uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine paired with an electric motor to deliver a combined output of 186 PS. Toyota claims that the hybrid setup can operate in electric-only mode for up to 60 per cent of the time depending on driving conditions. It boasts a claimed fuel economy of 22.16 kmpl.
In addition to the hybrid variants, Toyota also offers a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 174 PS giving consumers the flexibility to choose between a conventional petrol setup and a more advanced hybrid system. Prices for the Innova HyCross start from Rs. 19.53 lakh for the base trim and goes up to Rs. 32.95 lakh for the top-spec model (ex-showroom).
The Japanese company also provides an 8-year warranty on the hybrid battery for select variants. The Innova HyCross secured a safety rating of five stars under the Bharat NCAP programme and it also comes equipped with Toyota Safety Sense which includes a suite of advanced driver assistance systems. On the features front, the HyCross gets powered Ottoman seats in the second row, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a powered tailgate and more than 65 connected car features.
