Ola has dropped prices of the flagship Roadster X+ 9.1 kWh variant due to scaling up production of its in-house 4680 Bharat battery cells

Ola Electric has reduced the price of its flagship Roadster X+ 9.1 kWh electric motorcycle bringing it down to Rs. 1,29,999 from the earlier Rs. 1,89,999. The Rs. 60,000 drop comes as the company scales up production of its in-house 4680 Bharat battery cells. Alongside the price cut, Ola has also changed how the motorcycle will be sold.

Instead of regular open bookings, the company is moving to a limited purchase window system. The first of these will go live on April 3 between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM with only a fixed number of units available. The brand says it is largely due to a sudden spike in demand as interest in the Roadster grew more than five times – quickly outpacing current production capacity.

Ola is opting to release batches in controlled time slots to streamline deliveries. The Roadster X+ 9.1 kWh remains the top model in the company’s electric motorcycle portfolio. It is positioned as a high performance offering with a claimed range of up to 500 km on a single charge – making it one of the most capable options in its category.

Under the skin, the motorcycle is powered by a 9.1 kWh battery pack built around Ola’s 4680 Bharat Cell technology. It helps maximise energy density while maintaining thermal stability which is crucial for delivering consistent performance over long distances. The platform supports high energy output while keeping weight distribution in check.

Much of the recent pricing flexibility comes from Ola’s battery strategy. The 4680 Bharat Cell which is designed and manufactured in India is now being produced at scale at the company’s Gigafactory. As volumes increase, production costs have dropped allowing Ola to pass those benefits directly to customers.

The company is also expanding its battery manufacturing capacity – targeting around 6 GWh in the near future. In March 2026, the company recorded over 150 per cent growth compared to February with registrations reaching 10,117 units. Daily orders crossed the 1,000 mark in the final week of the month. The brand is looking to draw in more customers with attractive offers as well.
