Hyundai reported domestic sales of 1,66,578 units in the final quarter of this past FY with an 8.5 per cent year-on-year increase
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has wrapped up FY2025–26 in an appreciable manner by registering its best-ever quarterly domestic performance in the January to March period. The company reported domestic sales of 1,66,578 units in the final quarter of this past FY with an 8.5 per cent year-on-year increase and marking the highest quarterly domestic tally in its history.
Overall, Hyundai recorded total sales of 2,08,275 units during Q4 FY26 with a volume growth of 8.7 per cent compared to the same period last year. The total figure comprises export volumes of 41,697 units which grew by 9.4 per cent year-on-year. The month of March 2026 also turned out to be a milestone for the Korean auto major in India.
Hyundai achieved total monthly dispatches of 69,004 units – posting a modest 2.5 per cent year-on-year rise. More importantly, domestic sales stood at 55,064 units – making it the company’s highest-ever March performance in the Indian market with a 6.3 per cent growth. Exports during March contributed 13,940 units to the overall tally.

The combination of consistent export demand and local sales helped Hyundai close the quarter on a high. Hyundai is banking on product updates to sustain its growth curve. Recently refreshed models such as the Hyundai Verna and Hyundai Exter are expected to play a significant role in driving volumes and consolidating the brand’s portfolio.
Speaking about the sales performance, Tarun Garg, MD & CEO – HMIL, said, “Continuing the momentum gained in 2026, we have achieved highest-ever quarterly domestic sales of 1,66,578 units in Q4 FY2025-26. We remain confident of sustaining the pace with upcoming product interventions like our recently upgraded Hyundai VERNA and EXTER.”

Despite ongoing global uncertainties, the company remains optimistic about FY2026–27. Hyundai’s recently launched new generation Venue has been well received by customers. The compact SUV scored impressively in the latest round of Bharat NCAP crash tests as well. Meanwhile, the Creta continues to lead the way in terms of garnering sales and is expected to get a brand new iteration sometime next year.
