FADA retail data shows 4.10 lakh passenger vehicles were sold in June 2026 – up 28.63 per cent on a year-on-year basis in India
The PV retail sales in India reached 4,10,853 units in June 2026 according to the latest FADA data. The market added 91,441 units over June 2025 when registrations stood at 3,19,412 units which resulted in a huge 28.63 per cent year-on-year growth. As has been the case, Maruti Suzuki retained a large lead at the top while Tata, Mahindra and Hyundai occupied the next three places.
Maruti Suzuki led the chart with 1,67,834 units in June 2026 – up from 1,22,775 units in the same month last year. The brand added 45,059 units and posted 36.70 per cent growth – finishing with 40.85 per cent share of the total retail market. Tata Motors secured second position with 57,009 units – gaining 19,278 units when compared to the same period last year.
Its retail tally grew by 51.09 per cent and market share stood at 13.88 per cent. Mahindra finished third with 54,099 units – up from 44,249 units by registering 22.26 per cent growth and 13.17 per cent share. Hyundai ranked fourth with a total of 44,163 units and an increase of 3,420 units over last year. The brand recorded 8.39 per cent growth and held 10.75 per cent market share.

Toyota completed the top five with 28,818 units – adding 3,787 units and posting 15.13 per cent year-on-year growth. Kia took sixth place with 23,166 units as its numbers were up from 19,485 units during the corresponding period twelve months ago. Its volume gain stood at 3,681 units while the growth was recorded at 18.89 per cent.
Skoda and Volkswagen combined finished seventh with 8,098 units – down by 466 units – leading to a 5.44 per cent decline. JSW MG Motor registered 6,997 units and achieved 21.31 per cent growth courtesy of the good reception for the Windsor EV. Honda followed with 4,833 units while Renault posted 3,858 units with a strong 49.65 per cent rise.

Nissan registered 2,749 units – almost doubling from 1,398 units last year with 96.64 per cent growth. Luxury brands also made an impact in the retail chart. BMW recorded 1,699 units as it finished ahead of Mercedes-Benz at 1,608 units. Meanwhile, VinFast registered 1,404 units in June 2026 while BYD posted 873 units. Lower down, Force Motors came in with 870 units followed by Citroen at 742 units and JLR at 587 units.
