Yamaha’s first performance-oriented electric maxi scooter ‘Aerox-E’ arrives with dual removable batteries, 9.5 kW motor and TFT connectivity
Yamaha has officially announced the price of the Aerox-E in India at Rs. 2.82 lakh (ex-showroom) as it has introduced its first premium electric maxi scooter in the domestic market. First showcased in November 2025, the Aerox-E extends Yamaha’s well-recognised Aerox lineup into the EV space while retaining the sporty character of the Aerox 155. It also becomes the costliest Yamaha two-wheeler currently on sale in India.
Powering the Aerox-E is a 9.5 kW electric motor capable of producing 48 Nm of peak torque. Yamaha has paired the motor with two detachable 1.5 kWh lithium-ion battery packs – offering a combined capacity of 3 kWh. The company says the batteries use high energy density cells and can be removed conveniently for charging at home or office thanks to integrated carrying handles.
Yamaha claims an IDC-certified range of 117 km on a full charge. The scooter tips the scales at 139 kg – making it around 13 kg heavier than the standard Aerox 155. Riders can choose between Eco, Standard and Power riding modes based on performance requirements while a dedicated Boost function delivers additional acceleration during overtaking or rapid starts.

It boasts a claimed top speed of 95.5 kmph and 14-inch Y-shaped alloy wheels. The Aerox-E also introduces a Reverse Mode – simplifying parking maneuvers in tight spaces. Yamaha has retained the sporty chassis characteristics associated with the petrol-powered Aerox while revising the suspension setup to suit the additional battery weight and deliver improved stability through corners.
Visually, the Aerox-E closely mirrors its internal combustion sibling. The maxi scooter retains its muscular proportions, central X-shaped styling theme and sharp body panels. Lighting is fully LED featuring twin Class-D LED headlamps, LED turn indicators and a distinctive 3D-effect LED tail lamp. The cockpit receives a significant technology upgrade through a full-colour TFT instrument display supporting turn-by-turn navigation.

Yamaha’s Y-Connect smartphone application adds connected functions including maintenance reminders, ride statistics and last parked vehicle location. A Smart Key system and an external charging port are also present. Braking hardware consists of disc brakes at both ends assisted by single-channel ABS while the chassis continues to prioritise sporty handling.
