Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella top-spec E3 variant is already Rs. 3.60 lakh costlier than Maruti Suzuki e Vitara which could make it less desirable
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has today announced the official price for the Urban Cruiser Ebella – confirming the arrival of the Japanese brand’s first battery electric vehicle for the domestic market. A single variant – the E3 – has been made available priced at Rs. 23,60,000 (ex-showroom).
It carries a 61 kWh battery pack, a 128 kW (172 hp) electric motor producing 189 Nm of torque and sits on the same Heartect-e platform shared with the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara. The exterior follows what Toyota calls an Urban Tech design theme – a hammerhead front expression with Toyota’s signature lighting treatment, an aerodynamic silhouette, dual tone finish options and a set of 18-inch alloy wheels.
Nine colour options have been presented in total comprising five monotone and four two-tone combinations. The cabin has been built around a premium brief and as you might expect, it shares a lot with the e Vitara which went on sale a few months ago in a more expansive variant lineup with prices starting at Rs. 16 lakh (ex-showroom).

| Variant | Battery | Power | Torque | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Grade E3 | 61 kWh | 128 kW (172 hp) | 189 Nm | Rs. 23,60,000 |
We can expect Toyota to reveal prices of more variants sooner rather than later but the range-topping E3 model is already Rs. 3,60,000 more expensive. Ventilated front seats, sliding and reclining rear seats, ambient lighting with 12 colour options, a panoramic roof and a JBL premium sound system are some of the key highlights of the interior.
A unified digital cockpit integrates a 10.25-inch instrument console and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system as well. The latter supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity while dual-tone interior finishes are also available. Safety equipment includes seven airbags, Level 2 ADAS, a 360 degree camera and a high tensile body structure.
AC and DC fast charging are both supported with remote charging operation, scheduling and battery monitoring available through the i-Connect platform. Toyota has prepared over 500 BEV enabled service touchpoints with dedicated diagnostic tools and infrastructure – supported by more than 2,500 BEV trained technicians.
An 8-year battery warranty, assured buyback option, Battery-as-a-Service plans and attractive finance schemes back the ownership package. At Rs 23.60 lakh, the Urban Cruiser Ebella enters the electric midsize SUV space positioned above the Hyundai Creta Electric and other directly challengers including e Vitara and Mahindra BE 6 with a claimed driving range of 543 km on a single charge.
