From Volkswagen and Nissan to Toyota, MG, and Mercedes-Benz, mass-market and luxury automakers line up five major car launches for April.

The first quarter of 2026 has been quite eventful for the Indian car market, with several highly anticipated models launched, including the all-new Renault Duster, the VW Tayron R Line, and the Maruti e Vitara. In April, too, there will be several key debuts and launches, from both mainstream and luxury brands.

1. New VW Taigun

On 9 April, Volkswagen will take the covers off the facelifted Taigun and possibly even conduct its launch. The new Taigun should feature a more aggressive and bolder design with sleek and connected headlamps, illuminated brand logos, and revised tail lamps. A more high-tech interior with a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a massage rear seat are also expected.

Volkswagen will also introduce an 8-speed automatic transmission option with the 1.0-litre TSI engine, which could increase the fuel economy by around 1 km/l and make the ride smoother.

The MG Majestor, the facelifted version of the MG Gloster, will be launched as the brand’s new Toyota Fortuner rival next month. The new model brings a noticeably more rugged design, new features such as a front passenger massage seat, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a dual wireless smartphone charger, and more, and improved safety with Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems.

It will be closely related to the all-new Renault Duster, featuring the same platform, body structure, components, and features. A Nissan Patrol-inspired front-end with a sharper and more road-focused exterior will set it apart from the Renault model.
