used luxury cars

We bet you didn’t know these facts about luxury cars!

Envied by many, owned by few- luxury cars can easily draw your attention at any point of the day.

Because luxury keeps evolving, there’s always something new that can leave you awestruck.

And all those who are intrigued by the many things luxury cars offer- these unique facts about luxury cars will leave you amazed.

But before we begin, ask yourself- which luxury car do you envy the most?

Because we’ve covered a few and you might as well found your love in this list.

So if you have your answer, let’s dive in!

A car that is a refrigerator!

The BMW Isetta was a car made by BMW to escape bankruptcy back in the 1950s.

Known as the “bubble car”- it was a three-wheeled car with the door of a refrigerator.

Back in 1954 at the Turin Car Show, the BMW got inspired by the car’s design and so they acquired licensing rights from the Italian manufacturer Iso Rivolta to manufacture the “bubble car” as the BMW Isetta.

This microcar was a hit in those days.

Interestingly, the car had an open roof used as an emergency exit since the car door was at the front.

Another surprising fact is this car had a carriage on the outside to carry luggage- it was more like a rack though!

The Isetta is one of the vintage luxury cars today!

The Lamborghini logo symbolises “determination”-

This isn’t something new. Many companies globally have logos that symbolise everything from relationships to the company’s origin.

But this one here is a little different.

The “golden bull” is the logo of one of the most loved luxury car brands, Lamborghini.

But have you ever wondered why a bull?

Why not something geometric like a Mercedes?

The founder of the company, Ferruccio Lamborghini, started manufacturing trucks in Italy after world war 2.

The industrialist had a zeal to manufacture used luxury cars and reform the market segment for good.

His inspiration interestingly came from a Ferrari model that didn’t quite satisfy him-so he manufactured his own satisfaction instead!

The Lamborghini logo represents the sun sign of Ferruccio i.eTaurus. The bull that represents the Taurus sign is known to be a symbol of determination, stability and strength.

From Rapp Motorenwerke to BMW-

BMW as a brand has evolved into one of the preeminent luxury cars manufacturers globally today.

But manufacturing cars was not what they did in the initial years of the company.

With changing times, and demands the company evolved and took the hold of a very significant market share globally.

But what we see today isn’t the reality: the backstory is what will leave you flabbergasted.

Back in 1913, they were known as Rapp Motorenwerke. The company used to manufacture aircraft engines which they also supplied to Germans during the first world war.

Today what we know as BMW originated from the Rapp Motorenwerke further taken over by Bayerische Flugzeugwerke AG in 1922.

Interestingly, the logos of both Rapp and BMW resemble each other a lot.

The first-ever Rover was inspired by an American-military tank-

No brand starts as a brand.

There is a whole backstory not everyone knows.

Similarly, the Rover brand was a manufacturing cycles in its initial years.

The transition from two-wheels to four-wheels must have been difficult.

But here’s what caught our eyes.

The very first Rover was inspired by the US military jeep i.e Willys-Overland. Yeah, you heard it right.

In the process of preparing a model for farming purposes the brothers’ Spencer and Maurice Wilks, innovated a design fit for military use.

The seats of Beckham’s Rolls Royce Phantom says- 23!

If you love football and luxury cars too- this will blow your mind!

The famous former footballer and the love of all, David Beckham owns a customised Rolls Royce Phantom.

The cool thing about this car is that David engraved the number 23 on every seat of this car, that is the number on his jersey. Isn’t it amazing?

It won’t be wrong to say the footballer likes to show off his achievements every now and then.

One of a kind Lamborghini Huracan that changes colours-

Our favourite one is finally here.

All cars come in different colours, and probably the hardest decision to make is the colour itself.

But when it comes to a Lamborghini, oh this car can nail any colour.

None can ever be a disappointment.

But do you know there’s a single variant of this car that has been modified to look different from different angles?

Covered with a symmetrical chrome wrap this variant is owned by none other than Chris Brown.

Because of the modifications, this car reflects hues of different colours like blue, pink, yellow and purple. Which goes seamlessly with the purple headlights!

Isn’t it cool? We love how the car turned out-do you?

A normal luxury car didn’t do it for prince Abdulaziz-

We know how much the sheikhs of Saudi like to showcase their royalty.

And with every other person owning a luxury car these days; maybe the prince wanted to become the centre of attention.

Late Prince Al Talal bin Abdulaziz gifted himself a diamond-studded Mercedes Benz on his 38th birthday. Because just any luxury car wouldn’t do it for him!

The Willy’s inspired the Mahindra jeep design-

Back in the time when world-war 2 had ended the Co-founder of Mahindra & Mahindra went to the USA to meet the person who had invented the Jeep at that time.

The Co-founder got fascinated with the intricately designed Jeeps, and he knew this was something he had to bring to India.

He was convinced that this car could help the people reach beyond the developed parts of the country. So he won the bidding and started assembling the Jeep in India.

This is how the much loved Mahindra & Mahindra Jeep was made.

The everlasting bond of Daniel Craig & Aston Martin-

Mr Bond can never disappoint us with his charms and even the makers of Aston Martin were smitten by the legend.

This is why they offered him the invincible experience of riding an Aston Martin for his life.

Mr Craig can drive whichever car he wants in Aston Martin’s showroom and even test drives it on a race track. Interestingly, this offer can never be revoked.

However, the actor does not own an Aston Martin presently.

Isn’t it interesting to know the backstories of these cars? Some of these are inspiring, and some are fun-but all are phenomenal!

Which fact did you like the most? Because we can’t seem to make up our minds and choose the one we love the most since all of these are so great!

Why should you buy a used Jaguar XJL Portfolio at Kings Auto

We know how difficult it could get to find your best match while buying used luxury cars. And to be honest, if you know what you want it gets a bit easier to find something that satisfies you. But when it comes to cars the most important thing to know before buying are the specifications.

So if you know what you want, sit tight because we are going to explore every car in Kings Auto’s collection to see which one suits your requirements.

But for this particular read, we’ll be sticking to the used Jaguar XJL Portfolio in our lot.

The first impression is the last impression- and your eyes will always tell you if you find something appealing or not. So let us start from the car’s looks and exterior.

To begin with, the car comes in a bright white colour that goes seamlessly with the silvery finish. The overall look of the car is classy and robust. Moving specifically towards the front of the car- the massive grille is the eye-catcher here.

The huge grilles are the new trend in the market, and if you see yourself making an entrance in a car with “GDFR” in the background. This is the car you need.

Coming back to the car’s front look, this variant has an extended hood, which was a good call given the huge grille. The extended hood compliments the grilles and the precisely shaped headlights which altogether looks very regal and classy. Not to mention, the back of the car has a very sharp lifted look.

So overall the car’s look is amazing and we would rate it 9/10.

Now let us move to the car’s interior.

The interior that’ll leave you awestruck!

Look at the car’s snippet on our website, what else do you need to feel comfortable during your rides. The first thing that needs to be spoken about is the space near the front passenger seats. In this space, you can sit cross-legged, straight-legged, or even lie down with your seatback. There is ample room for the armrest on the side and the seats look really well-cushioned, don’t they? Plus, the interior looks quite aesthetic; the different shades of brown and beige gives it a completely vintage look.

As you can see in the picture, the windshield of the car is very wide-giving the driver and the co-driver a chance to observe and embrace their trip. In all terms, the interior of the car is astoundingly amazing and can definitely compliment someone who appreciates a slight taste of vintage.

Now that we love the car’s exterior and the interior, the time has come to dig deep and get our hands really dirty here. We know your eyes feel pleased and every cell in your body right now is convinced to buy the car. But hold on- we have more for you!

We don’t want you to lure yourself into a deal just because you think it looks good and comfortable. The main checkpoints are yet to be passed. The major decisions lie in the specifications and now is the time to discuss that.

So let’s start with the powertrain, shall we?

The super strong powertrain-

This used Jaguar XJL Portfolio comes with an engine putting out 237 bhp @5500 rpm and 340 nm @ 1750 rpm of max power and max torque respectively.

Moreover, this variant comes with an automatic transmission system and a sports mode for people who like to speed up once in a while. This is a perfect car for those who like to experience a blend of sporty and classy spirits.

Talking about the car’s hold on the road-with a wheelbase of 3157mm this car will be smooth on bumpy roads and sharp cuts. And to stay comfy on roads of course you need a good boot space. Will 520 litres be enough for you? Yeah, you heard it right.

While safety on road has become the major concern of consumers in today’s time, it will be unfair to not discuss the safety features this used Jaguar XJL Portfolio comes with.

Safety prioritised on roads –

To name a few safety features of this car, it comes with a cruise control system, a speed-sensing door lock, a park assist system, a parking sensor and 6 Airbags for both the drivers.

Want more? This car has an electronically controllable sunroof and ambient mood lighting. Which is a terrific combination of amenities if you like to escape the noise by going on rides to find some alone time.

How to spot a bad car engine while buying Pre-Owned luxury cars

Used luxury cars may be affordable compared to new luxury cars, yet the expenditure is not less.

That is why it is important to cross-check every single thing if you want to get a good deal.

Even though there are a few proven ways you can use to get a good deal, many times things are concealed voluntarily and that is the reason we want you to know all before you seal the deal.

To get the value for your money, you need to be sure about every part of the car. And one major part you can never ignore in this process is the car’s engine.

The quality of the car can be faked even when you’ve checked everything from the vehicle history report to its insurance history.

So we suggest you do a little digging of your own while purchasing used luxury cars from a private dealer as private deals are iffy.

But since you need to be digging in the right way to find what you’re looking for, we’re here to guide you through it.

Thus, here are a number of ways you can spot a bad engine on the first look without the help of a professional.

Difficulty in running at a stable pace-

If you’ve taken this car on a test drive and had experienced difficulty in keeping it at a stable pace, it could be because of less power production by the car’s engine.

Now, this could be because of many reasons, but it is recommended you don’t ignore it.

A few causes of loss of power are obstructed air filters and failed fuel pumps. Although these are not major red flags, this could become an unavoidable problem in future.

Excessive noises-

There are different kinds of noises, and experts say that all portray distinct problems.

Even though it’s normal for cars to start making noises when their servicing schedule is near or even because of low oil levels, consistent unbearable noises can be a big red flag.

One reason could be worn-out bearings, if the car’s bearings are in a poor condition they can cause the engine to seize up completely.

Another major red flag you shouldn’t ignore is “a bang sound”. Such backfires quickly damage a car and this could even mean that there is a problem with the car’s catalytic converter.

These issues could mean that the owner hasn’t really taken good care of the car, and maintenance has not been done properly.

Thus, buying a car with any of such problems is not really recommended.

Excessive fuel consumption-

Although it’s not a child’s play to change the odometer’s readings, it is possible, and that is why it is important to calculate the car’s mileage yourself.

You don’t have to take it to a mechanic to do that, just divide the number of kilometres driven by the litres of fuel utilized and you should have your answer.

If you think the mileage of the car is low it could mean that there is a problem with proper fuel combustion

Excessive fuel consumption could be because of aggressive driving habits too. This is a clear red flag and indicates that the car hasn’t been kept properly.

Although, this could also be because of other factors like low tire pressure.

The car stops randomly while driving-

There can be many reasons for this problem. And not all would necessarily mean that the car’s engine is faulty.

There could be issues with the car’s electrical system or just an overheated engine due to less coolant.

But another potential reason for this that shouldn’t be ignored, is a faulty fuel pump system. This can raise real issues in the long run.

Look out for fake parts-

We’ve been telling you this for a long time now- private deals are iffy!

One major reason that private dealings have very little credibility is that there is a huge probability that the car owner had compromised on the maintenance somewhere.

And one major factor that contributes to this compromise is replacing worn out parts with fake parts.

Now you might not spot any replaced parts at first sight, but if you dig a little deep and try to keep an eye for these changes- you might as well catch a few.

Look out for extensive modifications-

Extensive modifications are never appreciated, and the reason is that modifications include replacing or adding parts in the vehicle.

With no credibility of these additions whatsoever, it becomes a liability of the person who buys it second hand.

As the car tends to age, these additions wear out or even damage other parts, leaving behind huge repair costs and decreased engine performance.

Servicing done from unauthorized service centres-

This doesn’t necessarily mean that the engine is bad but the chances are pretty good.

Local mechanics keep less knowledge of premium and luxury cars, if the previous owner entrusted them with their vehicle, you don’t want to buy it and increase your headache.

Moreover, there is zero accountability of these unauthorised service centres, there are good chances that the mechanic had replaced a few parts with local parts to deal with something temporarily.

But the thing is these temporary repairs kill the car’s life.

Oil leaks-

Engine oil leaks can never be good and you should be able to spot a leak easily if you look below the car.

Whenever a car’s engine starts leaking, it’s a clear sign there’s something wrong with the engine’s gasket. A broken gasket is probably the reason this car is leaking too much.

Burnt oil smell!

A burnt oil smell indicates an excessive oil leak. The oil is probably dripping on the heated parts of the car because of which you are smelling burnt oil.

Whatever the reason may be, these leaks are not good and can further deteriorate the engine’s condition.

Excessive smoke-

One thing you should be concerned about is excessive smoke from the engine as this could be because of a poor engine block.

An engine block is an important part of the car and it is a structure that holds many important parts like the cylinder together.

Thus any mishappening with the engine block can lead to serious damage. Also, repairing this part could cost a lot of money.

With this, it’s a wrap! We know it’s difficult to find that one perfect car when there are so many options lined up. But buying used luxury cars is only worth it when you buy them after proper inspections.

As you could end up paying high repairing costs for the cheap deals you make and it won’t look like an affordable deal for a long time.

It’s only a matter of time till you start cursing the dealer and the garage is where your car spends most of the time.

If you take care of these pointers, chances are you will get your hands on a good model. But you will have to inspect several pre-owned luxury cars to find that one reliable fit you’ve been looking for.

But if you wish to cut short this time and get your dream car with the least effort- go for a certified car dealership!

Buying from a car dealership comes with innumerable benefits, plus, you wouldn’t have to work your fingers to the bone to find a good quality car.

Trust us and check out Kings Auto’s collection of pre-owned luxury cars, we sell 100% original quality assured Second hand cars and provide the best deals possible in the market!

7 Tips for financing luxury cars

Second-hand luxury cars come with an option of financing just as any normal car does. Let’s be honest, financing sounds like a viable option until you finally start paying back. Customers in pursuit of buying their dream car are often so blinded by the perks that insurance companies offer that they dig their own graves.

Hence it is very significant that you keep your eyes wide open and don’t make impulsive decisions. Otherwise, you’ll end up paying so much more than what you’re liable for.

This happens as most of the people who plan to buy used luxury cars are dependent on the dealer to provide them with every bit of information. What they ignore in the process is that the dealer can easily tamper with the information and yet manage to influence them into a deal not worth it.

Although this is a very recurring thing, very basic research can help you manipulate the conversation and shift the benefits to your side. Here are 8 tips to get desirable deals while buying used luxury cars

1. Pay 15-20% upfront as the down payment

Many people shy away from paying upfront down payments on used luxury cars and the rest choose to finance on zero down payment. While this looks so tempting, it’s not recommended. The two major reasons why this is not a recommended thing to do are- firstly this increases the interest rate tremendously and second it increases your loan term. It’s basic math.

2. Separate the car’s costs from add-ons!

While you’ll be deciding which car to go for, the financing agent of your chosen company will be deciding- how to sell you more in the name of the car’s life? Along with financing your car comes many other options like availing extended warranties and roadside assistance packages. Now whether you should opt for these or not is a discussion for another time, but what you certainly shouldn’t do is add the cost of these add-ons to the amount of loan you’re availing of.

Why unnecessarily increase the loan amount and the rate of interest levied on you? Pay for these benefits and add-ons through cash instead. Moreover, used luxury cars in Delhi are eligible to get extended warranties and additional perks even after the process of financing has been completed.

3. Try not to skip your EMIs

Skipping your EMIs without knowing the possible repercussions is the worst thing you can do. With high interest rates, secured collaterals, and additional charges, banks hardly incur losses in case of arrears of payments. And with you skipping your EMIs, believe it or not, it’s just another source of profit for them.

If you’ve ever had a proper conversation with any financing agents of used luxury cars in Delhi, you would know the high ECS charges these financing companies charge. These can be as high as 1000 bucks for a single instance, which in most cases isn’t a monthly thing. Implying that they can charge this much as many times as your ECS mandate fails to clear from your bank. While many banks mention these details to their customers, loan bearers usually are negligent in these aspects.

4. Know your credit score

Before you choose to entrust a particular bank with your financing needs, ask around. Get to know what the market is offering at the moment and most of all, know your credit score. As your credit score significantly impacts your interest rates. If you have a good credit score of say above 750, you are likely to get offered a low annual percentage rate on your loan. But this is only beneficial if you can compare what you’ve been offered with what you should get.

5. Try to make pre/part-payments whenever possible

Prepayments are always recommended, as what is better than paying off what you owe. However, it’s not possible to have cash in hand all the time. Thus banks allow you to make part-payments against the principal loan amount once or twice a year. Making part payments can help you reduce your interest rate significantly. Although subject to your bank’s policy you might not be allowed to make part payments more than twice.

6. Choose your bank wisely

It all comes down to one bank and its policies. Hence make sure you read all policy-related documents carefully. Different banks that provide financing services for used luxury cars in Delhi NCR charge differently and you need to choose the one that fits best to your requirements. While making a deal ask for foreclosure charges, non-payment penalties, ECS charges, documentation charges, swap charges, and cheque bounce penalties, etc. If you don’t confirm these specifications at the time of the deal, these will haunt you as hidden costs later. So don’t shy away from asking for all the information you need to make a well-informed decision.

7. Don’t fall prey to “High-Interest Rates”

High-interest rates are a cause for concern. Your interest rate is calculated after considering many factors such as your credit score, down payment, tenure of the loan, income level, etc. However, a single quotation from a company isn’t the end of the world.

Also, one way of decreasing your overall interest rate is to pay a good down payment or decrease the term of the loan or do both. This decreases the overall loan amount and thus reduces the interest rate significantly.

One way financial agents coax you into their deals is by using low monthly EMIs as lollipops. These deals look pretty good on the outside, however low EMIs will increase your loan term which means higher interest rates. Companies usually lure the buyers of luxury second-hand cars into signing up for a low EMI to fulfill their personal agendas.

Does refinancing work for second-hand luxury cars?

Refinancing is a good option, but it is more difficult to get a vehicle approved for refinancing. Companies offering this service will only approve the request if the vehicle has a good market value.

What is the recommended loan tenure for financing any car?

The shorter the better. There’s no rule book to financing that you must adhere to strictly. However, if you are capable of paying a little more every month, then paying back the earliest is the option you should go for.

If you follow these tips, you’re more likely to get the best deals in the market. One last tip would be to always negotiate even if you’re getting the best deal. You’ll be surprised to see how much you can save if you make well-informed decisions.

8 Things Everyone Gets Wrong About Luxury Cars

The markets of second-hand luxury cars and luxury cars aren’t distinct. Instead the former is a part of the latter. Hence, it’s easier to get muddled with the facts and lose focus.

Spending money on luxury cars is a hefty deal, because it takes good research to recognize the right way to go about it. Since you are spending a whole lot of money, it’s only better if you consider everything from the pros and cons of this expenditure. Moreover, except for the pros and cons, there are a few facts that require to be highlighted to reduce ambiguity.

Thus, here we are enlightening you about a few misinterpreted facts about the market of second-hand luxury cars-

Everything has a shelf life! No matter how expensive it was, nothing can last forever and provide an equal level of satisfaction as it did the very first day. Thus, just the fact that you are opting for a luxury car does not guarantee you everlasting pleasure. Sure, the life of a luxury car is more than that of a standard car but maintenance is the key to slow down the aging process. Many things apart from good servicing impact the car’s life and performance like driving frequencies, driving conditions, and modifications.

Another thing is, you won’t get the best second-hand luxury cars if you choose to go to private dealers. One in thousands? Sure! But only if you’re lucky enough.

Only the richest can afford to buy luxury cars

You do need a good bank balance to buy luxury cars but what you don’t need is to buy at market price. This means that you can get your dream car at much cheaper than the market price if you are open to explore and dig a little deeper. If you’re unaware of the concept of used luxury cars you’ll be surprised to know that you can buy the same model you are eyeing at half the market price. Hence you don’t need money oozing out of your pockets, you just need to make a rational decision.

The prices are high because of the brand name and nothing else is exclusive

It’s the brand that sells not the quality, you don’t get anything unique but everything fancy! Certainly brand plays an important role in defining the worth of the products, yet it isn’t everything that is considered while pricing the car. The reason that luxury cars are so expensive is that it takes the best technology in manufacturing them that increases the production costs. Thus, the selling price increases tremendously, though this doesn’t mean they aren’t worth it. The purpose of luxury cars is to provide you lavish experiences which they fulfill quite well. Also, the concern of price becomes secondary when you try to explore the market of used luxury cars for sale in Delhi NCR.

Luxury cars are an investment

No, they aren’t and they can never be. In fact, no car is ever an investment. Investment is anything that secures your future or provides you with ROI. Thus, buying a luxury car is not an investment as it does not give you any return on your investment. Another thing is maintenance is necessary and your car might ask for money in the future for a seamless experience. Hence, Unless you are buying your luxury car for some commercial purposes, you can’t expect it to bring anything back to you. Even luxury second-hand cars require maintenance, so you can’t consider either of them as an investment.

Getting your hands on a new model is better than buying used luxury cars

This is subjective to your preference and is not true in all scenarios. If your preference does not have any price restraints buying a new model sounds about right. But if you’re looking for reasonable and sustainable options, go for luxury second-hand cars. The reason is that buying a new model can cost you a lot more than buying a pre-owned one. Thus, it is only feasible to go for second-hand options and get the same quality at cheaper prices.

Buying used luxury cars affects your status symbol

It is a big misconception that those who buy pre-owned cars lack the resources to buy new ones. The fact is many people who like to be experimental with their rides choose to buy pre-owned cars so that they can keep exploring new models without getting barred to a single car. To add to this, many car dealerships offer almost new variants of used luxury cars in Delhi, therefore, it’s nothing but reasonable to explore all of your options.

Maintenance is a myth- get it serviced at a local garage!

If you are going to go cheap on servicing and maintenance then don’t choose a luxury car in the first place. Getting maintenance done in a local garage will only cut short the life of the car and impact the car’s performance immensely. Hence,  before spending your money, keep an average annual budget for the car’s maintenance so that it doesn’t come to you as a hidden cost later on.

Luxury cars are human-made

One major reason why luxury cars cost so much money is that many manufacturers take help from bots to meet the demand of the market. This is because robots are much faster. Many manufacturers today take the help of robots to reduce production time, attain accuracy of work and reduce the possibility of mistakes. The robots used in the automobile industry on a major scale are called pick and place robots.

That’s it. If you’ve stuck with us till now, you now know that buying used luxury cars in Delhi is quite complex.

Everything from choosing to assessing is going to take a toll on you. And not to scare you off, but private dealers are too shady to entrust. Your best shot is to go to a reliable car dealership and if you’re looking for one, don’t forget to check out Kings Auto’s collection of pre-owned cars.
